The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department Out of School Programs Section works in cooperation with internal facilities and area youth-based agencies to provide quality school-aged child care when youth are out of school.

In addition to providing in-house training for department staff, the section facilitates the unique partnership between the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and the School District of Palm Beach County by providing funding and technical assistance to the existing Middle School After-School Program. Special attention is taken to provide middle school after-school participants with quality recreational activities. The Out of School Programs Section created the Recreation Consultant program which provides an avenue for community members to share unique talents with middle school students, summer camp, and internal after-school program participants.
