July 2012 as Parks and Recreation Month

“They say every great community has a great park and recreation system, and Palm Beach County certainly has that,” declared Parks and Recreation Director Eric Call as he thanked the members of Palm Beach County’s Board of County Commissioners for their unanimous support in proclaiming July 2012 as Parks and Recreation Month.

PROCLAMATION
OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA

DECLARING JULY 2012 AS
PARKS AND RECREATION MONTH

                WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs are an integral part of communities throughout this country, including Palm Beach County, and;

                WHEREAS, parks and recreation activities are vitally important to establishing and maintaining a high quality of life in our communities, ensuring the health of citizens, and contributing to our economic and environmental well-being, and;

                WHEREAS, parks and recreation programs, tournaments and events boost the economy, enhance property values, attract new business, increase tourism, reduce crime, enhance education, help develop creativity, and promote cultural diversity; and

                WHEREAS, Palm Beach County’s parks, open lands and trail systems offer ecological beautify and space to enjoy nature, help maintain clean air and water, preserve plant and animal wildlife, and provide for critical green infrastructure, and;

                WHEREAS, the U.S. House of Representatives has designated July as Parks and Recreation Month.

                NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, assembled in regular session this 10th day of July 2012, that the month of July 2012, in Palm Beach County, is hereby proclaimed

Parks and Recreation Month

                BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this proclamation is duly sealed, ribboned and executed by the members of this Board. The foregoing proclamation was sponsored by Commissioner Paulette Burdick, and upon unanimous consent of the Board, the Chair declared the proclamation duly enacted.
