December Program Guide
at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call (561) 629-8760 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

ORIGAMI
Every Friday at 3:00pm

Children 7 and older, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
Join volunteers Jerry and Marilyn Lambert as they teach the ancient art of paper-folding.

ALLIGATOR FEEDINGS
Every Wednesday and Saturday at 3:00pm
Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
Watch our resident alligator eat a meal!

CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: Mammals
Thursday, December 3 at 3:00pm
Ages 3-6, $4 per child (Reservations Required)
Parents, bring your little ones to experience exciting nature topics!  Programs may include activities such as: stories, puppets, games, role play, nature walks, and crafts.

Join a docent for a guided tour of our swamp habitat!

STORY TIME
Sunday, December 6 at 10:30am
Ages 2-5 (older siblings welcome), $2 per child (Reservations NOT Required)
Join us as we go on adventures through stories, both fiction and non-fiction, about animals and nature!

ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS: Snakes
Sunday, December 13 at 2:00pm
Families / All Ages, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
Come and meet (and touch) some of our resident snakes! Are snakes slimy? How do they get around without legs? Which snakes are dangerous? Learn the answers to these questions and many more!

What comes out at night? Join us for a walk through our wetlands and see some special adaptations of nocturnal animals.  Bring bug spray and a flashlight.

ECO EXPLORERS: Animal Tracks
Tuesday, December 22 at 2:30pm
Ages 7-11, $4 per child (Reservations Required)
Looking for something to do during your day off from school? Come and explore nature topics through experiments and other hands-on explorations. During this session we will be learning about animal tracks. Come make your own animal track to take home and take a boardwalk tour to look for tracks out in our swamp!

Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in South County Regional Park at 11200 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, west of Boca Raton.
