Palm Beach County has just completed a renovation to Sunset Cove Amphitheater, west of Boca Raton, which will enhance the 1½-year-old facility’s ability to attract and host national concert entertainment. Promoters and artists will now enjoy greater flexibility and load capacity in flying lighting trusses or sound equipment with the addition of four new 3 inch diameter pipes (two at 50’ and two at 15’ in length).

Completion of the project is timely. National concert artists are lined up for Friday, November 13 (Rock/Blues artist George Thorogood & the Destroyers), and Saturday, November 14 (Country artists the Zac Brown Band). Confirmed upcoming concerts also include Tegan and Sarah on February, 21, 2010. Tickets may be purchased for these events by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 or at www.ticketmaster.com.

Sunset Cove Amphitheater, owned and operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, is located in South County Regional Park. The picturesque, lakeside amphitheater has a festival seating capacity of 5,000 people with excellent views, concession areas, restrooms, ample parking, and often breathtaking sunsets over the Everglades. A dog park, accessible playground, and a planned golf course are also nearby.

Sunset Cove produces a popular annual July 4th Concert & Fireworks Celebration, and a Winter Solstice Party event featuring holiday-themed entertainment and 24 tons of snow which is scheduled for Saturday, December 19th. Watch for family movies and a host of other events as well!

Sunset Cove Amphitheater is located at 12551 Glades Road, Boca Raton, 2 1/2 miles west of 441 on Glades Road and is accessible from I-95 or Florida’s Turnpike.
