PBC Golf Courses

The Parks and Recreation Department has a history of turning disturbed land into natural and recreational park settings for residents and visitors of Palm Beach County to enjoy for generations. Osprey Point Golf Course, located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, is no exception. Prior to beginning development of Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, the land was used for both agricultural farming and shellrock mining and had been completely disturbed. The area where Osprey Point Golf Course is located had been entirely overgrown with Brazilian Peppers and other invasive exotics.

The same property has been transformed into a scenic, waterside, 27-hole golf course with newly planted native vegetation.

Construction of the final phase of Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park began in 2004, and several of the park features, such as the amphitheater and dog park, were quickly completed. In response to concerns identified by the environmental community regarding water use and associated regulatory issues, staff of the Parks and Recreation Department worked collaboratively with environmental groups and officials with the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge to reduce the irrigated acreage at the facility. These activities delayed the completion of the facility.

In conjunction with the efforts to reduce irrigated acreage, the Parks and Recreation Department applied to Audubon International [external link] to certify the golf course as an Audubon International Classic Signature Golf Course. To be certified, the Department increased the acres of natural habitat at the facility, enhanced environmental protection efforts on the site, switched to a more environmentally-friendly grass (Seashore Paspalum), and made commitments to maintain the facility under the strict operating guidelines established by Audubon International.

Osprey Point Golf Course opened on November 6, 2010. The 27-hole golf course features:

  • “Environmental Turf Grass” (Seashore Paspalum) on greens, tees, and fairways;
  • An attractive rolling layout with five sets of tees on each hole;
  • Native Florida landscaping with coquina cart paths in a natural park setting;
  • 2 practice putting greens, 2 practice chipping greens, and a full length double ended range;
  • Comprehensive adult and junior golf programming for all ages and abilities; and
  • Activities and events for both competitive and recreational golfer

Substantial practice areas are suitable for learning the game of golf, as well as for taking the game to the next level. Best of all; Osprey Point Golf Course provides great value to the residents and guests of Palm Beach County by providing a memorable golf experience at an affordable price, quality programming for golfers of all abilities, and great customer service.

Osprey Point Golf Course is open seven days a week including holidays. Tee Times can be made by calling 561-482-2868 or by selecting the tee times link on the left side of the page. Handicap accessible golf cart available upon request with advanced notice.

We look forward to seeing you tee up at Osprey Point Golf Course!
