*New Information and Guidelines for 2012
About the classes:
Lessons are for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities (siblings can participate if sessions do not reach capacity). Instructors are certified in Adapted Aquatics and teach the American Red Cross Learn-to- Swim program. Program emphasizes water safety and foundational swimming concepts. Skills are adapted for each participant’s ability. Success in the program will depend on consistency of participation, swimming outside of class time, and whether the participant is developmentally ready to swim. Days are not made up for missed classes (two make-up dates are provided at the end of each session for weather cancellations and excused absences).
