We think you will agree we are the place to find your new best friend.Choosing a pet is not easy - we have a large selection! Most of the animals available for adoption are hearty mixed breeds. However, purebreds are always available. Our adoption specialists will help match your lifestyle and needs with the dog or cat that suits you best. When you have found a pet you are interested in, staff will take your family members and the pet to our special 'get-acquainted' area. All animals are adopted to qualified applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis. Adoption fees are $58 for adult dogs, $67 for puppies, and $54 for cats and kittens. Senior citizen residents of Palm Beach County, 55 years and older, are offered an adoption discount fee. Adopted dogs and cats come with a Health Care Certificate, which must be used within seven days of the adoption release date or is no longer valid. The certificate offers a free exam for your pet from one of the local partricipating veterinarians in the program and includes health care if the animal becomes sick with a shelter related illness within the first seven days of the adoption. The certificate is restricted and must be used by the adopter immediately. Staff and volunteers try to find the best match for every animal and person.
