    Run for the Animals sponsored by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Greyhound Pets of America is the third annual 5k run, walk and one-mile family and dog walk event, Saturday, November 21 at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach starting at 8 a.m. Call 561-688-3981 to pre-registration. Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control will be at the event distributing vouchers offering a 'low-cost rabies vaccination, license tag, and microchip' to pet owners of spayed or neutered dogs or cats for only $20. We will be in the big 'Neuter Commuter' van. The voucher will be available only at this location and can only be redeemed for service at PBC Animal Care and Control during the dates and times on the voucher. This is a promotional event and the voucher is restricted to sterilized pets residing in Palm Beach County.

    17th Annual Pet Toy Project begins directly after the Thanksgiving holiday. By donating a new dog or cat toy to a shelter pet, you can make a difference that may save a life. Pets with toys are more likely to be active and noticed by potential adopters. The best type of pet toy for dogs is the hard indestructible toy, and cats and kittens love all types of cat toys.   • Spay Shuttle mobile spay/neuter bus normally operates Monday through Friday each week in the parking lot at Animal Care and Control - call 561-233-1261 for appointments, directions or any schedule changes. During the month of November, the Spay Shuttle is being repainted and having the graphics replaced. Those with scheduled appointments during this time will need to report to the main lobby entrance where staff will be available. The spay/neuter surgeries will be performed at the main facility of Animal Care and Control, 7100 Belvedere Road, WPB.

  • West County Spay/Neuter Clinic is located at 3615 State Road 715 in Pahokee. The spay or neuter surgery for dogs and cats is free to any pet owner residing in Palm Beach County. There is a small fee of $25 for the required rabies vaccination, rabies license tag and microchip. Call for an appointment at (561) 924-5657. With proof of public assistance, the rabies vaccination, license tag and microchip fee is waived.

  • Rabies vaccinations and microchipping are available for dogs and cats four months and older at the main shelter location, 7100 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. The hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This service is not available on Sunday or Monday. If the veterinarian is not available on Saturday, this service cannot be provided. Please call 561-233-1272 before visiting the shelter to assure a veterinarian is available. The rabies vaccination is $15, the license tag is $15 and the microchip is $5 for each spayed or neutered dog or cat. For animals that have not been sterilized, the fee is $75 for the license tag and $20 for the microchip. County ordinance requires that all dogs and cats must be wearing a current rabies license tag.
