Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs is proposing revisions to the County Towtruck Ordinance 2005-009. To review the latest revisions click on the link below to view a PDF version of the proposed ordinance. New language is underscored and bolded, while language that is being removed has strike-throughs.

Copies of the Ordinance may also be obtained by visiting the Consumer Affairs Office at 50 South Military Trail, Suite 201 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Ordinance was preliminarily approved by the Board of County Commissioners at the “first reading” December 15, 2009. The County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing and possible final approval for the Ordinance on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Government Center, Jane M. Thompson Memorial Chambers, 301 N Olive Ave 6th Floor, West Palm Beach.

If the Board approves the Ordinance, they will then consider a resolution to establish license fees, minimum insurance rates, maximum non-consent towing rates and a schedule of fines for Ordinance violators.
