• LIDAR - Improves Flood Mapping Accuracy

In response to Hurricanes Frances, Jeanne (2004), Hurricane Wilma (2005) and Tropical Storm Fay (2008), Palm Beach County submitted 21 drainage improvement projects and two major acquisition projects to FEMA under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The accumulated value of these projects exceeds 28 million dollars. Several projects have been slowed by rising costs and extended environmental and technical reviews. Several projects have entered the engineering phase prior to construction.
