The Tactical Command Unit (TCU) provides direct support to response agencies in the field. The Department of Public Safety has partnered with Palm Beach Co. Department of Fire/Rescue and Palm Beach County Department of Airports to provide this valuable asset to serve as a mobile command post for large events.

Not only can the TCU be used as a command post but it has special features that may be used for other needs. The TCU is generator powered capable of 20 KW or can be operated via shorelines. It is also equipped with a galley and lavatory with hot running water; an audio/video system; a mast mounted video system; a Datastorm System; 6 computers with EM/2000 software; and communications equipment that include UHF, VHF, 800 MHZ, cellular and satellite technology. Other amenities that make it an excellent field resource are the ample space for meetings of unified command personnel and the Coleman Polar Mach HVAC system for optimal comfort.
