The Emergency Management Training Programs address the overall training needs for both the division staff as well as all county staff that assemble during the activation of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC). Recent mandates by the Department of Homeland Security have greatly expanded the need for training of all county employees including the Board of County Commissioners and County Administration staff that have a defined role in emergency/disaster decision making, response, recovery or mitigation. According to recent changes in federal law, the receipt of certain funding from the federal government to the County will be dependent upon the full compliance of the County personnel to the new training requirements under the National Response Plan. The Training Programs area tracks the training performed by individual and ensures that all training opportunities related to Emergency/Disaster Management are properly disseminated to county, municipal and non-governmental partner agencies. |
