Palm Beach County Historic Preservation
Many steps have been taken by the Emergency Management Division, with the help of other state, county, and municipal departments, to preserve Palm Beach County's irreplaceable historic resources after a large-scale disaster. An inventory database of county and municipal historical resources with photographs and GIS maps now exists. We will also be integrating historic preservation into the emergency management process with additions to the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and Local Mitigation Strategy. We look forward to a future partnership with 1000 Friends of Florida and our many municipal partners to further advance this mitigation program through a countywide planning consortium. This integration is essential to preserve these priceless resources that contribute to the state's character and reflect our community's heritage.
