Communication Preparedness
Communications Plan
-
Talk with your employer and your
children’s school or day care
facility about their disaster
plans.
-
Identify two different places
for your family to meet in case
you are separated during an
emergency. One should be right
outside of your house, like a
tree, and the other should be
outside of your immediate
neighborhood, such as a store or
place of worship.
-
Local telephone lines may be
down or overwhelmed, so choose a
contact who lives out of the
area for you to call and report
that you are OK. Out of area
friends and relatives should
also call this person to find
out how you are doing.
