WEST PALM BEACH  March 11, 2009

Congratulations to Tax Collector Gannon on her recent recognition from the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The Tax Collector’s office was thrilled to receive THREE Palm Awards in the Product Awards Category, which honors outstanding achievement in Public Relations Products. The Tax Talk with Anne Gannon electronic newsletter, which reaches 100,000 residents monthly won in the “Newsletter - Government or Public Service” Category. The 2008 Tax Planner & Services Guide won in the “Collaterals – Specialty Item” Category. And, the website, www.taxcollectorpbc.com, won in the “Websites – Government or Public Service” Category. With the assistance  of our Communication and Media Group headed by Jennifer Mahoney and an employee team studying the website payment process through a knowledge-based learning class,  the Tax Collector demonstrated that the web payment process dropped from 28 steps to 10 steps and that payments completed on the website went up 23%.  Educating the Public is a core component of the Tax Collector’s basic mission to “Collect, EDUCATE, and Distribute”.
