The Tax Collector is the agent of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the sale of all hunting licenses, fresh and salt-water fishing licenses, waterfowl stamps, and game management permits.

Important Information about Hunting and Fishing Permits:

  • In 2007, the Office of the Tax Collector processed 3,200 Hunting and Fishing Licenses in Palm Beach County.
  • Popular licenses may be obtained from subagents such as sport stores, bait and tackle shops, and some department stores.
  • Licenses are annual and expire 12 months from the date of issuance.
  • Lifetime and Senior citizen fishing licenses are available through the Tax Collector's Office only.
  • Anyone born on or after June 1,1975, must have passed an approved hunter education course before they can be licensed to take wildlife in Florida.
  • An application for a disability fishing license may be obtained from your local Tax Collector’s Office and must be mailed to Tallahassee for issuance.
