New Specialty License Plate Options

Four new specialty license plates are available for purchase effective October 1, 2008. The license plates approved during the 2008 Legislative Session are:

  • Play Tennis – Fees collected will be distributed to the Florida Sports Foundation or United States Tennis Association – Florida.
  • Visit Our Lights – Fees collected will be distributed to the Florida Lighthouse Association, Inc. to fund the preservation, restoration and protection of the 29 historic lighthouses remaining in Florida.
  • In God We Trust - Fees collected will be distributed to the In God We Trust Foundation, Inc. to fund educational scholarships for the children of Florida residents who served in armed forces and other select fields.
  • Horse Country - Fees collected will be distributed to PCMI Properties, Inc. (a direct-support organization of the Panama City Marine Institute) to aid at-risk youth.

Additionally, the Legislature authorized the re-issuance of Bethune-Cookman University license plates to reflect the school name change from Bethune-Cookman College.
