Additional Property Tax Reform (Legislative Update Part II)
On November 2, 2010 Florida voters will get the opportunity to decide on additional property tax reform ballot initiatives approved by the Florida Legislature during the 2009 Session. The proposed Constitutional Amendments are targeted towards non-homestead property owners, 1st time home owners and military personnel. Read more>
Local Business Tax Season Kicks Off
Do you conduct business anywhere in the county; provide merchandise or services to the public? Are you a large, mid-size, one-person company or home-based business? If so, you must pay Local Business Taxes. On June 30, the Tax Collector’s Office will be mailing approximately 91,000 business tax renewals. Read more>
Do You Qualify for the Vehicle Registration Renewal Credit?
About 10 million Florida motorists will get $1 credit on their annual vehicle registration renewals in 2009-10 as the result of a federal lawsuit settlement approved August 12, 2008 by Gov. Charlie Crist and the state Cabinet. Funding of the settlement was approved by the Florida Legislature and included in the 2009-2010 state budget. Read more>

Florida Tax Collectors “Getting Back to Business”
Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne Gannon hosted the Spring Executive Session of the Florida Tax Collectors Association in Delray Beach June 15-17. The conference theme “Getting Back to Business” served as the backdrop to allow tax collectors to remain on the cutting edge and shape the future direction of tax collection processes. Read more>
