The 2007 property tax notice will arrive in mailboxes shortly. Tax payers have the ability to pay a reduced rate until February. Property taxes are collectable from November 1 st until March 31 st. Discounts for early payments are allowed as follows:
- 4% in November
- 3% in December
- 2% in January
- 1% in February
“Taxpayers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the discounts,” said Anne M. Gannon, Tax Collector, Palm Beach County. 80% of taxes are paid during November and December, creating a flurry of activity in the Tax Collector’s office.
Please contact the Palm Beach County Tax Collector’s office, at (561) 355-2266, if you have not received your property tax notice by November 15, 2007. No discounts are allowed in March and taxes become delinquent on April 1st. The following payment options are available:
BY MAIL : Postmark constitutes date of payment and determines applicable discounts. Any payment not received in our office before April 1 st is considered delinquent. Use the return envelope included with your tax notice.
E-CHECK : (On-Line Only) with no additional fee. Visit our web site at www.taxcollectorpbc.com for instructions.
CREDIT CARDS : (Phone/On-Line Only) A 2.2% Convenience fee will apply. Visit our web site at www.taxcollectorpbc.com or call (561) 355-2266 for instructions.
“Taxpayers should read their tax bills and the supplemental content closely. Information on important deadlines, various payment options and other details are included” said Gannon.
582,396 real estate notices and 57,691 tangible personal property notices were printed for the 2007 tax year. 117 miles of paper were used to print these notices (over 2.5 times the amount of Atlantic shoreline in Palm Beach County).
