Florida ’s Personal Injury Protection (PIP) law, repealed on October 1, 2007, will become law again on January 1, 2008. The law requires all drivers to buy $10,000 worth of medical coverage for costs resulting from an accident regardless of fault. PIP coverage is voluntary until then, however property damage liability insurance coverage is still required. The legislature also approved a bill which exempts personal identifying information on PIP and Property Damage Liability insurance policies and accident reports from public records requirements.
