Female Alligator Carrying Babies on Nose and Head
Location: Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Summer 2000, to the left of the Concrete Walkway just past the third Gazebo. The female alligator removed her young from the nest in her mouth, then transported them on her head and snout. There are three baby alligators in this picture. The third is behind the eyes, facing the camera.
PLEASE NOTE: Although alligators are typically non-aggressive, this is not the case when they are nesting or have young. They will charge and attack humans. Please be cautious.
