Purple Gallinule

Location: The Wakodahatchee Wetlands. The Purple Gallinule is another bird that is more prevalent in the summer than the winter. It breeds at Wakodahatchee, and also feeds on Fireflag blooms that grow and open in the summer. The chicks of the Purple Gallinule are jet black.
