Procedures for Submission of photography, sound, stories, and comments

Those who have experienced and enjoyed the Wakodahatchee Wetlands are encouraged to contribute to this website. Text comments on your experience, and especially on wildlife and wildlife (bird) behavior observations are appreciated and will be hastily posted for display (see procedure below). If you recorded your experience with photographs, video, or sound recording, and you wish to submit material for review, follow the procedures noted below. Professionals or serious amateurs may open a gallery of their work and become a site partner. General comments on the website, or on anything else, can be submitted through e-mail.

Thanks for visiting. I encourage you to contribute! -Andrew-

To Contribute Stories or Behavior Descriptions:

If you have a Wakodahatchee story you would like to share, or if you have insight into or observe strange behaviors exhibited by any of the wildlife or birds listed on this sight, please submit your experiences via e-mail by Clicking Here. The subject line of the e-mail should read "Wakodahatchee Story."

Please make the text as concise as possible. Include your name, where you live, and any other information about yourself that you would like to share. If you DO NOT want your story posted to the website, please make a note of this. All e-mails will receive a response. Some parts of stories that are used on the website may be edited or removed for clarity or brevity. If your story is posted to the website, you will be informed within two weeks.

To Contribute Photography:

Original images made with digital cameras, or scanned images are welcome. Prints are also accepted, and will be returned if a SASE is included.

To submit DIGITAL IMAGES:

The maximum resolution for e-mail submission is 120 pixels/inch. Images should be JPEG format with less than level 7 quality. The maximum file size per image should be 250 kb. If you are submitting a SINGLE image, send the file as an e-mail attachment by Clicking Here (the subject line of the e-mail should be "Wakodahatchee Photo"). If you would like to submit MULTIPLE images, please send a list of image titles and file sizes by Clicking Here. I will contact you with an alternate address that allows larger downloads. Please include a caption for the photograph, your name, where you live, and any other information you would like to share. You will retain all copyrights. By submitting the photograph, you grant one time unrestricted rights to display your work.

To submit PRINTS:

I can scan prints on my home scanner. If you took a great shot Click Here to send a description (the subject line of the e-mail should be "Wakodahatchee Prints"). I will contact you with the address to use when you send the prints. It is recommended that you send duplicates of the original photograph in case they are damaged during shipment. If you would like the prints returned, include a SASE and the prints will be returned within four weeks. Please include a caption for the photograph, your name, where you live, and any other information you would like to share. Copyright information is the same as for digital images.

Due to size restrictions, not every image that is received will be displayed. If your image is posted to the website, you will be informed via e-mail within two weeks.

To Contribute Digital Video or Digital Sound Files:

Original video and sound clips are welcome if the file size is less than 1 MB. Please send a description of the clip (do not attach the clip) by Clicking Here. (the subject line of the e-mail should be "Wakodahatchee video (or sound) clip"). I will reply to you with an alternate e-mail address that allows uploads of large files. Please include a description of the clip, your name, where you live, and any other information you would like to share. You will retain all copyrights on the material. By submitting the material you grant one time unrestricted rights to display your work. Due to size restrictions, not all material that is sent will be used on the website. If your material is used, you will be contacted via e-mail within two weeks.

To Open a Gallery and Become a Site Partner:

Photography is one of the most effective conservation tools. One goal of this website is to promote the work of those who document and publicize the need for conservation. If you are a professional photographer, or a serious amateur who has done work at Wakodahatchee, and you run a website, you might consider becoming a site partner. In return for one time rights to display a gallery of your work, a link will be provided to an endorsement and your home page. Other arrangements will be made on a case by case basis. If you are interested in becoming a site partner, send an e-mail by Clicking Here.
